How we got here

We started with one van, one machine and a very simple observation: most people have had a bad experience with a carpet cleaner. Either the price went up once the job was underway, or the carpet stayed wet for two days, or the stain that was promised came straight back a week later. None of those problems are hard to avoid. They happen when a company is optimising for the number of jobs it can get through in a day rather than the state of the carpet it leaves behind.

So we built the business the other way around. We quote fewer jobs and spend longer on each one. We turn down work we cannot do properly. And when a stain is not going to come out, we say so at the quote rather than at the invoice.

What we believe about carpet

Carpet is the largest filter in most buildings, and how it is maintained has a direct effect on the air in the room. That is not marketing. Dust mite allergen, pollen, mould spores and fine particulate all settle into pile and stay there until something removes them. A vacuum takes the surface layer. Hot water extraction takes what has bonded to the fibre. Doing that once a year is one of the least expensive things a household can do for its indoor environment.

We also think carpet gets replaced far too early in New Zealand. The grit sitting at the base of a pile is abrasive, and every footstep grinds it against the fibre. Removing it properly, on a sensible cycle, is the difference between a carpet lasting eight years and lasting fifteen. That is a large amount of money and a large amount of landfill.

If we cannot make a noticeable difference to your carpet, we will tell you before we take the job, not after.

How we work

Every job starts with an inspection and a fixed quote. We identify the fibre before we choose a chemical. We pre-vacuum every time, even though it adds twenty minutes and no customer has ever asked us to. We control moisture so the backing and underlay stay dry and your carpet is walkable in hours rather than days. And we walk the job with you before we pack up, because the moment to fix something is while the equipment is still in the house.

If you are not happy with an area once it has dried, call us within seven days and we will come back and redo it. That is not a promotion, it is just how the business runs.
